Settings
Settings is where an Org Admin sets up, configures, and maintains Outreach for their organisation: requesting product access, configuring the SMS and email delivery channels, and managing the senders campaigns are allowed to send from.
All configuration lives under Outreach → Settings in the sidebar, split into an SMS section (Twilio integration and SMS senders) and an Email section (SendGrid integration, domains, and senders). Only Org Admins can open Settings — campaigners have no access to any configuration.
This section assumes you already have a NeonNow account and organisation, and the Org Admin role. For signing up, signing in, organisations, user management and role definitions, see the NeonNow platform docs.
What Org Admins Manage
| Area | What you do |
|---|---|
| Product access | Request Outreach for your organisation, and cancel access if needed |
| SMS channel | Configure Twilio Auth Token and Messaging Service SID |
| SMS senders | Choose how SMS campaigns pick a sender and curate the senders campaigners can use |
| Email channel | Configure SendGrid API Key, verified domains, and verified sender email addresses |
Typical Setup Flow
Setting up Outreach for the first time follows this sequence:
- Request access: submit an Outreach access request from the product landing page
- Wait for activation: the NeonNow team reviews and activates your subscription
- Configure channels: set up SMS (Twilio) and/or Email (SendGrid) credentials
- Verify senders (Email only): add verified domains and/or sender email addresses
- Confirm readiness: once a channel is configured, campaigners can start creating campaigns
How Configuration Affects Campaigns
Campaigners cannot create or run campaigns until the appropriate channels are configured. The table below summarises what campaigners can do based on the current configuration state:
| Configuration state | What campaigners can do |
|---|---|
| No channels configured | Cannot create any campaigns. The delivery channel options in the campaign wizard are disabled. |
| SMS configured (valid Twilio Auth Token) | Can create and run SMS campaigns. Email remains unavailable. |
| Email partially configured (valid SendGrid API Key, no verified senders) | Can start creating an email campaign, but cannot progress past the delivery channel step in the wizard. |
| Email fully configured (valid API Key + at least one verified sender) | Can create and run Email campaigns. |
| Both channels configured | Can create and run both SMS and Email campaigns. |
Campaigners cannot access Settings to resolve configuration issues themselves. If a channel is unavailable or a campaigner cannot finish a campaign, they should contact their Org Admin to check the configuration.
