Delivery and Statuses
Common questions about message delivery, statuses, retries, and exports.
What Is the Difference Between "Sent" and "Delivered"?
For SMS campaigns, Sent means the message has been handed off to the recipient's carrier. It is not proof that the message arrived — no delivery confirmation has come back yet, and the message can still fail. Delivered means a delivery confirmation has come back from the carrier, which normally means the message reached the handset. See Campaign and Message Statuses.
What Does "Assumed Delivered" Mean?
For SMS campaigns, if a message has been in a "Sent" status for more than 10 minutes without a delivery confirmation, it is automatically marked as Assumed Delivered. This happens because not all carriers report final delivery status. If a confirmation arrives later, the status is updated.
What Does "Retrying" Mean for Email?
When an email is temporarily deferred by the recipient's mail server, it enters a Retrying state. The delivery provider automatically retries delivery until it either succeeds or permanently fails.
Can I Retry Failed Messages?
Yes. Individual messages can be retried from their row in the run's messages table, and a run that has finished with failures offers a Resend Failed button in the run header that retries all of them at once. Retrying moves the run back into an In Progress state for the retried messages. Messages that failed because the recipient opted out cannot be retried. See Monitoring and Messages for details.
What Is "Warming Up"?
When you start a run now, it spends a 5-minute Warming Up window before any messages send. You can cancel during this window, which reverts the run to Ready to Run without sending anything. Runs scheduled for later do not warm up — the Scheduled state is their cancellation window, so they start sending directly when their scheduled time is reached. See Starting a Run.
Why Are My Messages Queued After the Run Started?
Even after a run starts, messages may wait in the queue if the available sending capacity is already fully used. The run still moves to In Progress — sending is pending, not failed — and its messages send in order. High-priority messages are dispatched ahead of normal-priority messages in other active runs.
How Do I Export Run Results?
From the run detail view, click Export to CSV. You can export all messages or just the currently filtered set. The export includes recipient information, message statuses, failure reasons, priority, and custom field values, and reflects any priority filter or sort you have applied.
